ABOUT

Like something from a Ridley Scott movie, with lush moody vocals, epic guitar sounds, and big analog synthesizers, Beautiful Machines blends cinematic synthwave, postrock and synth-pop for a visual and sound reminiscent of M83 meets Blade Runner with echoes of retro futurism.

Originally from San Francisco, the band built a following in London, and is now based in Germany.  After receiving an Independent Music Award for their debut album, the band’s follow up release Real Love caught the attention of Nylon saying "The band has a truly magnanimous sound that is as much a nod to the past as it is a reflection of the musical ingenuity of today."

Control featured the band working alongside producer Ade Fenton(Gary Numan), was spun on BBC Radio 6, subsequently remixed by The New Division and had a video premiere in Clash Magazine describing the band “Gazing into the future, the group’s synth-enabled alt-pop is like mainlining a William Gibson novel, absorbing new ideas at every turn.”

Beautiful Machines supported OMD on tour in Germany 2022, performed at Infest 2022 in the UK, and headlined Rock the Planet 2022 in Paris.  The band has previously toured from North America to Europe and with shows in Asia and Central America, with some notable performances at Northern Nights Music Festival, Island Life Festival, SXSW, UMS Festival, Boom Festival, Burning Man, and supporting Kraftwerk’s Wolfgang Flür.

Their recent release album Singularity (2024) has been noted as the 10 Most Anticipated Albums by MP3s and NPCs.  “Each track showcases a unique facet of Beautiful Machines' artistry, revealing the band’s unparalleled ability to balance intricate synth arrangements with a cinematic grandeur that commands attention and the production is immaculate.”

~ Album of the Year 2024

Beautiful Machines is currently working on their 4th album Becoming Human slated for release later this year that moves the band more into new territory, evolving their sound with  analogue, acoustic and human emotion.
